The core of the European Education Plan has been developed by the best Spine Experts in Europe, all active members of the SSE Education Committee.
However this initiative would not be European without receiving the numerous National Spine Society of Europe fedebacks; a team work with the EuroSpine Foundation allowed to sharing the original concept with over 20 National Spine Societies and taking into account their comments. In addition to sharing visions with National Societies, this European Iniative would not have been complete without the implication of EANS, the European Association of Neuro Surgical Societies. This was a real Cross Border Collaboration!
The European Spine Societies and Federations of Specialists all aim at the same goal: to provide the highest quality standard in Spine Education. The
Education Advisory Committee is the place where the group meets once a year to share visions and experience in this field but also and sometimes discuss their different point of views!
Establishing Standards is the key to making Spine Education possible in different languages. Establishing Standards does not mean establishing "standardizing". Every National Society can deliver the European Spine Course Diploma curriculum of the European Education Plan and that is one of our objectives. However an independent Review Committee must ensure that the rules defining the quality standards are well respected. The Review Committee will be established in 2011 with the role to guarantee that the European Spine Course Diploma is consistent and of the highest quality.
